22nd November
Yesterday Badja and Spyda
attended the Supreme Show at the NEC in Birmingham. Unfortunately I
could not take them personally as I was ill but my husband and daughter
took them instead.
I am pleased to say that
Spyda gained her Grand Champion
certificate (now she has 2). Badja however won her first UK Grand Champion Certificate and
won Best of Breed. I am told
also she was within the final three cats for the Best of Variety too,
in a large class of 15. I was very proud of both of them but especially
Badja. I was only sad that I couldn't attend personally.
17th October
Spyda and Spotted Dick aka
Tomtom attended the Kentish show. Spyda got reserve (2nd) in her Grand
Champion class and Tomtom came second in his. Spyda did win Best of
Breed. However, in a side class Tomtom did beat the boy who was given
the Grand Champion certificate and the boy who won the reserve Imperial
Grand Champion certificate too!
27th September
Sexton is now reserved. Thank
you to people who expressed an interest in him. If you would like me to
contact you when we next have kittens, please let me know.
19th September
Due to a change of
circumstances, I have a black silver tabby
boy, Sexton, is now available again from Hero's litter. He is a
well-marked
gentle boy. See photo below.

Sexton, a tabby boy
31st August
Hero has given birth to 7
kittens on 13th August, their dad is my own Spotted Dick, aka Tomtom.
There are 4 tabby boys, 1
spotted boy, 1 tabby girl and 1 spotted girl. The girls, the
spotted boy and 1 of the tabby boys (Arthur) is already spoken for
but 3 of the tabby boys are available. See photos below.

10th June
Badja has given birth to 5
tabby boys two days ago.
All Badja's kittens have now
been reserved.

6th June
Spyda gave birth to 5 lovely
healthy kittens 2 days ago. This is my first true Metallicat litter as
I have breed both the mum and the dad (the dad is Spotted Dick aka
Tomtom). They have all inherited his large frame and big head and mum's
fantastic coat.
All kittens have now been
reserved.

28th May
IMPORTANT NOTICE
Due to a major computer
problem, I have lost all my emails and contact details from people who
have contacted me over the last 3 weeks. If you have emailed me
recently expressing an interest in kittens, please email me again,
otherwise I will not be able to contact you when we next have kittens
available.
6th May
We are pleased to announce
that Badja and Spyda are expecting. We have had some delays this year
with kittens due to my young stud boy taking a while to get the hang of
his new job. He seems to have managed it at last with Spyda. LOL
Badja's kittens will be all
silver tabbies and Spyda's, both spotted and tabbies. They are due
early June.
7th March
Spyda and Tomtom (aka Spotted
Dick) attended the Southern British Cat Club Show today.
Tomtom gained his 3rd
Challenge Certificate and so is now a Champion. Spyda was entered into
the Grand Challenge Certificate class, and against some stiff
competition of 6 other cats she was awarded Reserve Grand (2nd).
Tomtom now
Champion
Spyda
3rd March
After thinking that Badja was
expecting kittens, she announced to us all last week that she wasn't,
by coming back into call. (It was Tomtom's first time with a girl.)
However, we have returned her back with him and hopefully he has
managed to do his job this time.
I am fairly convinced that
Juliet is expecting kittens by him and her kittens are due early in
April.
8th February
We are happy to announce that
Badja, (and Tomtom) are expecting kittens. They are due mid March and
will be either black silver spottieds or tabbies.
Also, Juliet has been
visiting our young stud boy, Tomtom, and we are hopeful that she is
also expecting but we can't yet be certain. If she is her kittens will
be due early April.
31st January
Spyda and her daughter, Hero,
attended the Southern Counties show. Spyda was entered in the Grand
Champion class which was a large class of 7 cats.
Unfortunately she was not placed. However, Hero, in her first show
won first place in her open class and also Best of Breed.
23rd November
Badja (already a Grand
Champion) attended the Supreme show at the NEC, Birmingham yesterday.
She was entered into the UK Grand Champion class. The class had four
fantastic cats entered. Badja was given 2nd place, and then went onto
win Best of Breed over the boys.
29th October
All Spyda's kittens are now
reserved.

28th September
Tomtom attended the East
Sussex Cat Club show yesterday and gained another Challenge
Certificate, his second. He was also awarded his Best of Breed and came
first as well as two second places in his side classes.
9th September
I have just received
the genetic test results to confirm that all my cats are PKD
negative. This means we can relax knowing that our cats will never
develop this fatal disease.
7th September
Last night Spyda gave birth
to her first litter of kittens. There are six kittens in all, 3 girls
and 3 boys. All black silver tabbies.

Spotted Dick) was awarded his first Challenge Certificate and won Best
of Breed too. He also came second in two side classes and first in a
side class of 11 cats!!

Metallicat Silver Edward, out
of Grand Champion Metallicat Silver Badja, also attended the show as
his first show and came first in his open class, won Best of Breed and
came first and second place in two side classes. I would like to thank
his new owner Ruth for showing him in such good condition.
4th September
We are pleased to announce
Cinders gave birth to her kittens yesterday. Both girls are reserved
already. Both mum and kittens are doing well. Spyda is also due to
kitten. We await her first litter very soon.

8th August
We are now certain that Spyda
is expecting her first litter of kittens. If all goes well they will be
born in September. They will all be black silver tabbies.
5th August
It is with sadness that I
have to break the news that we had to have our very elderly neuter
girl, Lucy, put to sleep last Friday (1st August). She had Alzheimer's
disease and now had a very low quality of life. It was a difficult and
painful decision but one as a cat owner we have to make. In her prime
Lucy enjoyed life to the full and will now be sadly missed. She was 18
years old.
22nd July
Cinders has been to visit a
boy and is now expecting a litter of kittens. The kittens will all be
black silver tabbies and if all goes well, they will be born in early
September.
12th June
Today Spyda won her first
Grand Champion Challenge Certificate, while Spotted Dick, aka Tomtom,
came first in his open class (he is still classed as a kitten), won
Best of Breed and came first in all three of his side classes, so
having a 'red card day.' We are very proud of him and they both had
special treats for tea!
17th May
Spyda won her fourth
Challenge Certificate and Best of Breed, as well as two 1st and a
second in her side classes at the Suffok and Norfolk show. Spotted
Dick, aka Tomtom, won his open class and won Best of Breed and came 2nd
in two of his side classes.
13th May
I have now received deposits
for all of Badja's kittens. Possibly Spyda may come into call so that
she can have her first litter of kittens later this summer.
5th May
We are pleased to announce
that Badja gave birth to 5 silver tabby kittens this morning. There are
3 boys and 2 girls. All kittens are feeding and growing well already!
All kittens are now reserved pending receipt of deposits.
The girls

The boys

27th April
Although Badja's kittens are
due at the end of the week, Juliet's kittens are now 2 weeks old today.

26th April
Spyda is now has won the
title of Champion! Spyda attended the Bedford and District Cat Club
show today in Godmanchester. She was awarded her 3rd and final
Challenge Certificate there, so she is now a Champion. She also was
given the Best of Breed and won a 1st and a 2nd place in two of her
side classes. We are very proud of her.

22nd April
All Juliet's kittens are now
reserved. However we now await the arrival of Badja's kittens in early
May. They should all be silver tabbies.
17th April
Juliet gave birth to her
litter of kittens last Sunday (13th). There are 5 kittens in all, 3
boys and 2 girls. Both girls and 2 of the boys are already reserved but
one boy, I am now told is a black smoke, is still available. See
picture below.

1st April
We are now certain that Badja
is expecting kittens. Her kittens are due in early May and will be
black silver tabbies. We are look forward to the patter of tiny feet
from her, and from her 3 year old daughter, Juliet, soon.
7th March
We are now sure that Juliet
is expecting kittens. She has been to stud with the same soppy boy,
Denzel, as last year. If all goes well, her kittens will be born
mid-April.
Also, her mum, Badja, has
also been to stud to a tabby boy, Xollie. However, we do not yet know
if she is expecting or not. If she is, her kittens would be due early
May.
1st March
Spyda attended the Wessex Cat
show in Bracknell today. She won her class gaining both her challenge
certificate (her 2nd) and won Best of Breed. Her judge remarked on her
fabulous pattern. This is only her second show as an adult, and only
her 4th ever. She has always come first place in her open classes and
won Best of Breed on each occasion.

29th February
The new Now and Then pages
are now up on line. Please click on the now
and then link above to have a look. It should also be a bit quicker
to load and navigate.
9th February
Juliet attended the Croydon
Cat Club show today. She was awarded her third Grand Challenge
Certificate. This now means that Juliet has been made up to Grand
Champion. We are so pleased with her :)

26th January 2008
Juliet attended the Southern
Counties Cat Club show today and was awarded her second Grand Champion
Challenge Certificate. She also won Best of Breed.

Spyda attended her first show
as an adult today at the Southern Counties Cat Club show. She gained
her first Challenge Certificate and won Best of Breed too.

17th November
Supreme Show
Juliet and Badja attended the
Supreme Cat Show today at the NEC in Birmingham. Both girls won their
classes, Juliet gained her first Grand Challenge Certificate and Badja,
her third. This means that Badja has now been made up to Grand
Champion. My first! I am so proud of her :)

30th September
Cinders' boys
are all growing well. Look for yourself.
25th September
We
are pleased to announce the birth of 3 silver spotted boys to Cinders
last Friday (21st). Mum and kittens are doing well and have been
admired by all other silver girls.
15th July
Spyda attended her first cat
show yesterday. It was the East Sussex show in Tonbridge. She won her
open class and was also awarded Best of Breed. The Judge commented on
her stunning pattern. I was very proud of her, who took it all in her
stride.
Cinders, one of my tabby
girls, also came into call yesterday and so she has now gone to stud.
She is now an experienced girl in these matters and all being well, she
should have her kittens mid September.
Spyda at the East
Sussex Show
17th June
All Juliet's kittens are now reserved. The kittens are now beginning to
explore their kittening pen.

3rd June
The kittens are growing well and their eyes are just starting to open.
Four out of the seven are now reserved. There are 2 girls and 1 boy
still available.
30th May
We are proud to announce that Juliet gave birth to 7 black silver
spotted kittens on Monday 28th May. Mum and kittens doing well. There
are 4 girls and 3 boys.

2nd May
We now are fairly sure that
Juliet is expecting kittens. She has been a very fussy girl and
declined the advances of two other stud cats.
She will have her kittens
towards the end of May. She and he are both spotteds but there should
be both spotteds and tabbies in the litter.
7th April
The kittens
are growing a pace. Here is a picture of two of the boys.
25th March
Badja
gave birth to 5 good sized healthy kittens on Friday 23rd March. There
are four boys, and one girl (who I may be keeping as a future breeding
queen). The boys are already reserved!
See below to see a picture of the litter at 1 day old.

25th February
Badja is most definitely
expecting kittens. The kittens will be born towards the end of March
and there should be both tabby and spotted kittens in the litter.
Now we are waiting to see if
Juliet is expecting too. We should be able to tell, within the next
week.
9th February 2007
I am fairly sure that Badja
(one of my tabby girls) is expecting a litter of kittens. She visited
Leo about three weeks ago and I think that they got on well! If I am
correct, Badja's kittens will be born towards the end of March.
3rd December
All the kittens are now
happily living in their new homes. Find out what the new owners think
of their kittens on our new "Now and Then" page, accessed from the
navigation bar at the top of this page, or HERE!
22nd October
Kittens now 9 weeks old and
visited the vets for the first part of their inoculations. The vet said
they might be a little subdued for the first 24 hours, but I haven't
noticed any difference in their mischievousness.

21st October
Badja went to the Kentish
show today. She did herself proud, gaining Best of Breed and a Reserve
Grand Champion certificate. Not quite the coveted first place but
close. It is proving difficult to gain that last Grand Champion
certificate.

1st October
I have now started to wean
the kittens. After a slow start they are all beginning to eat some
meat. Kittens are beginning to play with toys and bounding about.

28th August
All
Cinders kittens are now reserved. We have also named them. The boys,
Silver Moth and Silver Hector. The girls, Silver Lucetta, Silver Viola
and Noflies Honor (after the fact when she was born she didn't hang
around finding where the food was, and stayed there come what may!)
22nd August
We are pleased to announce
the arrival of 5 silver tabby kittens to Cinders. There are 2 boys and
3 girls. The kittens are all doing well and growing already.

The girls
23rd July
The
kittens are enjoying their daily play and run around, exploring the
outside run. They are learning about the outside world, of different
sights, movements, smells and sounds, in a protected environment.
Consequently they are eating huge amounts and growing into well
adjusted kittens, ready to go their new homes next week.
16th July
I am confident that Cinders
after visiting Monty last month is expecting a litter of kittens around
about 17th August. She will probably be late as her previous litter
were. All kittens are likely to be black silver tabbies.
Juliet visited Max again
about 3 weeks ago but we are reluctant to speculate as to her condition
this time, as last time after her visit she was not pregnant, so I
don't want to tempt fate this time!
13th July 2006 Sad news
:(
It is with great sadness of
the whole family that we announce the loss of Samson, our British blue
neuter boy. A neighbour found him this morning on the lane behind her
house. We think he must have died of natural causes, possibly
exacerbated by the hot weather. He was a loving cat who always
came to see us first thing in the morning. The children are
particularly upset. We will now have to find him a quiet resting place
somewhere in the garden.

14th June
Kittens
are all developing at an alarming rate. Bounding around now and eating
a variety of solid food. They are all really pleased to see anyone who
comes in the room, just wanting fuss. When we let them run around the
house, they are very difficult to avoid, as they are so affectionate
and
at your feet. They are all the friendliest of kittens.
19th May
I
have now received deposits for all my kittens. As such, I consider them
all reserved. I shall continue to update the site with news of their
growth.
14th May
The kittens are now starting
to walk rather than wriggle around and they are beginning to play too,
I saw one biting his brothers ear today. Eyes now fully open.

Evening 10th May

Kittens eyes are just
starting to open now.

Kittens have really grown
now. Badja is looking after them well.
10th May
The kittens are growing so
fast that all of them have now doubled their birth weights. They are
developing quickly too as they are starting to open their eyes for the
first time and beginning to look like little baby cats. I have had a
lot of interest from future kittens owners and have booked some viewing
appointments for when the kittens are 3 weeks old. There are 3 kittens
that I have already received deposits for on the strength of pictures
and my correspondence.
4th May 2006
We are pleased to announce
the birth of six kittens to Badja on the 2nd May. Badja was trying to
tell us on Monday evening, she was miaowing at me then my husband and
would not settle until he sat with her. She gave birth over night,
having her last kitten at 6.55am on Tuesday morning. All kittens are
feeding well and growing already.
Here are some pictures of the
new arrivals.
The girls

The tabby boys

The spotty boys

11th April 2006
Badja is now putting on
weight well and being very affectionate.
9th April
Picked up the silvers today
from the cattery after our weeks holiday in France. Really missed them
and I think the cats were glad to be back too. Cats did a half hour
scout around the house just to check all was well before settling down
on laps or favourite lounging place.
29th March
I was coming to the
conclusion that Juliet is not pregnant as she shows no bulge at all,
however this was confirmed today as she came into call again. Samson
(our neuter boy) is definitely her favourite cat at the moment, as he
is the nearest we have to a entire boy. I won't take her back to the
stud just yet, but try again later in the year.
25th February
Badja has finally come into
call ( after a false alarm two weeks ago). She has just come back from
visiting Leo, so if all is well, we should be expecting kittens from
her at the end of April too.
Badja and Juliet should have
both spotty and tabby kittens.

23rd February
All kittens have left for
their new homes three weeks ago. By all accounts, all kittens have
settled very well. Thank you to new owners for keeping me in touch, it
is very much appreciated.
Juliet has been to see her
first boyfriend and we are hopefully going to be expecting kittens at
the end of April.
28th January
Show news:
Juliet was made up to champion today at the Southern Counties show in
Reading. She almost had red card day, gaining Best of Breed, with two
first and a second in the well-attended side classes too. A big thank
you to her judges on gaining her title.

15th January
Kittens ventured outside for
the first time today. After the initial sniffing, they soon discovered
how to jump onto the cat ladder, the cathouse and the shelves in the
outside run. They also noticed the fluttering birds and leaves. All
this excitement tired them out so much that they slept for several
hours in the afternoon, until their appetites woke them up for tea.

8th January 2006
A happy new year to all cat
lovers.
The kittens are very playful
now. They are eating well and only having an odd quick suckle from mum
when she stays still long enough. They are off to the vets tomorrow for
the first part of their inoculations. No doubt we will get the usual
oohs and aahs there.

27th December 2005
Kittens now 7 weeks old and
starting to bound and explore everywhere. Kittens starting to eat solid
food mostly and play with a variety of toys.

3rd December 2005
Kittens are now 4 weeks. All
are now climbing in and out of the kitten box. Phebe is coming up to be
fussed at every opportunity now she is fully healed. They are now at
the desperately cute stage, as can be seen by the pictures below.
Please contact me for viewing!

23rd November 2005
Couple of photos to post:

19th November 2005
Supreme Show.
Badja was awarded her second Grand Champion certificate, which means
she only needs one more to be awarded the title of Grand Champion. We
thank the judge, Mrs Wren for her comments - "The definition of
patterning is really quite outstanding".
Juliet, at her first show as
an adult, gained her first Challenge Certificate. Again, a most
complimentary comment from Mrs Wren: "Only 9 months, and already
showing much maturity and promise".
14th November 2005
Phebe visited the vet again
today. He was very pleased with her progress, and she is healing better
than he had expected.
13th November 2005
Kittens continue to put on
weight well. The eldest, Phebe, is a feisty little wotsit, and is doing
extremely well, in spite of being pushed onto the least productive
nipple by her greedy siblings.
7th November 2005
Phebe has been back to see
the vet, and he thought that her progress was better than he had
expected. As long as she can avoid any infections, her chances look
good. She has another appointment next week for a check-up, and may
require an operation at around 6 weeks old, to repair her abdominal
wall.
All the kittens including Phebe, are eating and gaining weight well.
We have now named all the kittens.
The girls: Phebe, Aemelia and Tamora.

The boys: Montagu and
Capulet.

6th November 2005
Cinders gave birth to 5
kittens today, 3 girls and 2 boys, all black silver tabbies.
The eldest, Phebe, unfortunately, had to be rushed to the vets
with an umbilical hernia. After expecting the worst, amazingly, the vet
managed to do a temporary repair to the hernia, so we are hopeful.
