Microchipping

This is a way which a cat or kitten can be permanently identified. A miniature transponder (the microchip - it is about the size of a grain of rice) is inserted under the skin by the vet. The chip has a unique identity number on it, which can then be read by a scanner. This chip is safer for the cat than a collar, as it cannot be lost or become snagged on anything.
