Transporting your kitten
Your
kitten should always travel in a secure cat carrier - either top or front
opening, made of rigid plastic or plastic-coated metal mesh. A cardboard
carrier is not secure, nor is allowing your cat to travel on your lap in the
back of a car!
Make
sure your kitten is comfortable with a blanket or cushion, and is neither too
hot or too cold. If the carrier is in full sun in the car, your kitten can soon
overheat. If the journey is to be a long one, it is a good idea to provide a
bowl of water, clipped to the inside of the carrier.

Never lend a cat basket and never borrow one – it may have been used for transporting a sick cat.
Always disinfect the basket after a visit to a vet or a cat show. Keep your
basket on your lap at the vets, as it is possible for your cat to pick up
infections and flees from the floor.
