• I am a
small-scale breeder, specialising in British
Shorthairs. I exclusively breed Black
silver tabby and spotties only.
• I have been showing British shorthairs
for some years now, and entered into many
shows, but I began breeding more recently.
• My prefix
is Metallicat, which is registered with
the GCCF.
• I am a
member of several clubs including Kentish
Cat Society, Southern British Shorthairs
Cat Club, East Sussex Cat Club, Essex Cat Club,
British Shorthair Cat Club, London Cat Club, as well as,
Maidstone and Medway Cat Club.
• My first
British shorthair was a blue, called Max.
He was the gentlest, soppiest, most loveable
cat you would ever like to meet. When
my children were babies, he would put
up with their wailing by lifting his paw
over his ear when lying in his basket
until it got too much for him, when he
would miaow at the door and want to be
let out!
• Sadly he
was knocked down outside our house at
the tender age of six. Immediately I wanted
to find another cat to pad in his footsteps.
Although I knew I couldn't replace him,
I found another cat, Samson, whose mum
was cousin to Max.
•
Samson, also a blue, had grown to be one of the family too, and after a
career on the show bench, retired with the title of Grand Premier.
Samson, however, recently unexpectedly passed away, after a night on
the prowl. We think the recent hot weather was too much for him.
